How to Make Georgian Korean Yaksik
Introduction to Yaksik
Yaksik is a traditional Korean sweet rice cake that is not only delicious but also carries a significant cultural value. In this recipe, we will explore how to make a fusion version of Yaksik with a Georgian twist.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of short-grain rice
- 1 cup of mixed dried fruits (such as apricots, raisins, and dates)
- 1/2 cup of mixed nuts (such as walnuts and almonds)
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup of pine nuts
- 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Instructions:
- Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 1 hour.
- After soaking, steam the rice until it's fully cooked and slightly sticky.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, dried fruits, nuts, honey, brown sugar, sesame seeds, pine nuts, dried cranberries, and cinnamon. Mix well.
